Spelling Bee Buddy does not require an NYT login. It reads the hive letters visible on the NYT Spelling Bee page to match today's hint dataset — that is the extent of its interaction with the official game.
The extension does not collect browsing history, crossword scores, or personal identifiers. It requests network access only to Spelling Bee Hub servers for the daily hint file. Review permissions under Extensions → Spelling Bee Buddy → Details in Chrome; site access should be limited to nytimes.com and sbeehub.com.
